Challenge Today’s bio-fuels face two main challenges to mass production. First, is the reliable production of cost effective feedstocks that do not compete with the food supply. Second, is the cost efficient extraction of the oils from those feedstocks. Solution SunEco Energy, Inc. (SunEco), was formed to commercialize algal feedstock production, utilizing waste water, on low use or nonproductive agricultural land. Innovative technology from our parent company, Global Renewable Energy Systems, facilitates conversion to fuels by third parties.
SunEco has leveraged the balance between forward thinking bio-science and real world processing practices, to successfully address the growing demand for renewable clean energy feedstocks, environmental stewardship and national security.
SunEco has proven this technology repeatedly, at its pilot production facility in Chino, CA. With this independently tested success, SunEco started this commercialization with the initial ground breaking of a proposed 1,000+ acre algal production facility in California.
SunEco produces two innovative products: 1. Straight Vegetable Oil (SVO), also known as biocrude or biodiesel crude, from the algal oil. 2. Livestock Feed Supplement (LFS) from the remaining algal oil, carbohydrates, proteins and sugars. |

America was energy self-sufficient and exported oil, until the mid 60’s when demand surpassed supply. This empowerment of OPEC spurred the oil embargo of the 70’s. |

The US consumes 145+ billion gallons of transportation petroleum a year. The majority of which is imported from unfriendly countries.
Currently, the US produces 1.5+ billion gallons of biodiesel per year from all feedstock sources such as corn, soy, palm and canola; some of which are imported.
All of these feedstocks are used in the food chain for both humans and livestock. This competition, along with global demand in emerging countries such as India and China has driven prices beyond historic levels for both food and fuel. |
